Dire significances
Nowadays, more and more people seem to feel comfortable
living in their own delusion. What I mean is that, people seems to grow tired
of finding what is true. As I see people around me, including many friends and
families, it seems like they prefer to believe whatever is convenient for them
rather than to believe what is true.
Many atheists believe that there is no God simply because being
atheists, it is more convenient IF there is no God. Many Christians believes
that Christianity is true because they felt like it is. Many other people of
different religions (Islam, Jew, Buddhism, etc) also keep their own “faith”
simply because changing belief systems may put them into a lot of trouble and
seems to be too much effort. The fear of knowing what could possibly very
inconvenient often stops people from exploring. Many people prefer to turn a
blind eye for this sort of things.
People of this generation “as if” being offered with this
many options, some opt out to be a free thinker. These people put themselves as
the judge of the highest authority when searching for truth. And so often they
create their “new hybrid –man-made believe system” – again according to
whatsoever is convenient.
Ok, So I have to be honest with my background. I am a Christian.
I’ve learn a little bit about other religions and philosophies. I was not
always convinced about the Holy Bible but as I read books, read the history,
speak with people, I am now convinced that Christianity is true. To be honest, I’m very disappointed with how
so many people take the issue about a “worldview” very lightly. Seems like many
people, regardless of what they confess to believe in, does not understand the
dire significances of not knowing the truth.
Not knowing the truth makes people delusional. Through the
blog, I’d like to share my bit of current wisdom. I really look forward to know
more about other believes. I look forward to be challenged, and questioned. Through
this, I hope to understand more about things that I have not yet
known. I had this journey once and it convinced me of Christianity. And hopefully
between: “I am a Christian and so Christianity must be true” or “Christianity
is true and thus I believe” this journey will reassure me of the former one…

A year has passed since my initial posting. Thank God, for the journey which allows me to be more convinced of His great love for me.
